rolled downtown this weekend, and what a blast…

downtown vegas is way, WAY, WWWAAAYYY different than the strip…

some hotels downtown, like the union plaza, the el cortez and the gold spike , have not changed their carpets since the early 50’s…

the locals that populate these casinos are serious about gambling, if there are penny slots around, usually wear worn t-shirts, and have some kind of breathing apparatus…

then there’s freemont street (http://www.vegasexperience.com)…

they took a street, freemont street, and put a canopy over the top of it that stretches for almost six blocks…the top of canopy has light shows, while the people on the street below are just plain LIT UP!!!
