And here’s why…

Looks like I don’t have to bungee jump off of any tall structures. Duke actually made a few treys in the first half, well actually a few more than a few, on the way to a big win.I’m sticking with the Blue Devils again and laying seven points over Butler. In Saturday’s picks for the Final Four, referencing the Bulldogs, I said, “Why let the fairy tale end now?” And that is exactly how I felt. But now, it IS time for this magical run to come to an end. Butler has been a marvelous story, beating the likes of Syracuse,

Kansas State and Michigan State, but these Blue Devils are VERY special. They have great balance,

height and attitude inside, and some of the purest shooters this side of Larry Bird. As you can tell,

Duke continues to play with that proverbial chip on its shoulder, and will not brush it off till they cut

down the net in Indy. Still wary of these Bulldogs from Indy, but if Matt Howard can’t go (concussion),

then life would certainly be much easier for Coach K’s squad. In any case, I’m not quite as strong as

I was for the Final Four picks, so my wager would probably be half of two winning picks on Saturday. Enjoy the title tilt, and check back for our baseball winners.

We will be enjoying the Final Four on the Vegas Strip.

Wish you were here. Let’s start with Butler minus one point over Michigan

State. Why let the fairy tale end now. These Bulldogs from

the Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis might be Cinderella,

but they AIN’T wearing slippers, they’re wearing the same

high priced sneakers as the Spartans. Butler has ripped

off a tidy little TWENTY FOUR game winning streak, and

covered four of the last five. And for those who say that the

Bulldogs wins have come against the cupcakes of the

Horizon League, just ask Syracuse or Kansas State or

Xavier or Ohio State about that. And if you have not seen

Gordon Hayward, just think Steve Nash, but at 6′ 9″. Yea!

And here’s why…

In the nighcap, I’m looking at Duke minus two points over

West Virginia. Never thought we would see the Dookies

playing with a chip on their shoulder, but it’s as clear as

day. All the selection Sunday chatter was about the Blue

Devils being a WEAK number one seed, and how they

would get bounced early because the ACC was WAY down

this season. Well, yes, the ACC was down, but the Devils

are still around. Anytime you have that chip on the shoulder,

and a coach, K, that has been to ELEVEN Final Fours, it’s

most definitely worth an investment. Especially if the team

has talent, and they do. They’ll be able to do something that

Kentucky couldn’t do, make the three point shot. The Wildcats

were 0 for 20 in the first half, ZERO for twenty, before they hit a

trey. That AIN’T gonna happen in this game. NO WAY, NO

HOW. If Duke starts out 0 for 20 from beyond the arc, I will

bungee jump off the Stratosphere Tower here in Vegas with just

my wounded pride, and leave my Speedo on the floor. News at 11:00!
